Die Schwebfliegen (Diptera, Syrphidae) eines Naturgartens im Vorderen Vogelsberg (Hessen) nach Malaisefallefängen. - [Hoverflies (Diptera, Syrphidae) at a natural garden habitat in the region of the Vorderer Vogelsberg (Hessen) based on to Malaise-trap catches.]

Abstract:

In a small natural garden habitat in the region of the Vorderer Vogelsberg a total of 72 syrphid species were caught with a Malaise-trap during 1994. The existence of a series of remarkable species is atributed to the surrounding wooded and aquatic areas. The preferred area, the preferred plants and the temperature data are commented on for those species. The species whose larvae are zoophagous dominated with 55,6%. Species with phytophagous larvae were represented with 15,3% and species with terrestrial-saprophagous larvae amounted to 13,9% of the syrphid taxocenose. The species with zoophagous larvae had the biggest part quantitatively, too, with 86,1%. Most individuals were caught in July.

Cytotaxonomical characteristics of Chironomidae (Diptera) from Hungary. - [Cytotaxonomische Charakterisierung von Chironomiden (Diptera) aus Ungarn.]

Abstract:

A total of 27 Chironomid species belonging to three subfamilies of family Chironomidae were described cytotaxonomically. Their karyotype characteristics from different Hungarian localities were presented for the first time. The first description of the karyotype of six species: Kiefferulus tendipediformis (2n=8), Tribelos intextus (2n=8), Cladotanytarsus mancus (2n=8), Dicrotendipes tritomus (2n=8), Parachironomus varus (2n=8) and Micropsectra aristata (2n=8) were given. Their polytene chromosomes have well expressed centromere regions and show high functional activity. On the basis of the detailed karyotaxonomic analysis the species Glyptotendipes glaucus could be diveded into three cytotypes which were distinghished by their karyotypes. An introgression between cytotypes I and cytotypes III was established.
